Tear It Up

I saw this challenge at Quick Quotes and could not wait to do it. I love to tear paper especially with beach scenes. I have a friend with a birthday coming up so I came up with this idea.

I took some of my scrap marble tan paper and tore edges using tearing tool from creative memories and water. I layered the papers then attached layered torn water paper. Placed these layers over a sheet of sunset paper. I placed raised glue dots under the torn paper to raise it up to look like waves and layered sand.

I used Quick Quote Chalk inks (biscotti/coconut)to highlight the tore edges of sand and water papers. I used Paper frosting from Shoestring to make the sand around the Happy Birthday sign. I used real and store bought shells around the Happy Birthday to help it stand out and I love shells. I try to use them in almost all my beach cards/pages.

The Happy Birthday is a stampin' up stamp in color box silver pigment ink with chameleon embossing powder. I used Lin & Lene Design Dolphin Die Cut for the dolphin, highlighted the dolphin with Quick Quote Chalk inks (cool miner/Feather Grey). I popped the dolphin out of the ways with 3D square adhesive. I love how this card turned out and can't wait until my friend receives it. Perfect card for the start of the summer season.
